Arriving at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH)

1) Take Metro Line 19 to Wensan Road Station, then transfer to Line 10 to Huanglong Sports Center Station (Exit D), and walk 600 meters to Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University. Appr. travel time: 1 hour

2) Take a taxi. Appr. travel time: 1 hour, Appr. costs: 100-150 RMB

Arriving at Hangzhou East Railway Station

1) Take Metro Line 19 to Wensan Road Station, then transfer to Line 10 to Huanglong Sports Center Station (Exit D), and walk 600 meters to Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University. Appr. travel time: 40 min

2) Take a taxi. Appr. travel time: 30 min, Appr. costs: 35-60 RMB

Arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG)

Take Shanghai Airport Link Line (railway) to Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 station in Shanghai (travel time 40min), then take a high-speed train to Hangzhou East Railway Station (travel time 1 hour).

Arriving at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)

Take a high-speed train to Hangzhou East Railway Station. Travel time 1 hour.

Arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)

Take a local flight to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH).

Arriving at Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX)

Take a local flight to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH).

Arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)

Take a local flight to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH).

How to ride Hangzhou Metro

  • If using Alipay: Open the app → Search “Hangzhou Metro” → Tap “Transport QR Code” (乘车码). Scan at the gate. (Super easy!). The metro QR code can also be retrieved via the “Travel” tab on Alipay’s homepage.
  • If buying a ticket:
  • Find the self-service ticket machine (usually near the entrance)
    • Touchscreen → Select your destination station → Pay (cash / WeChat / Alipay)
    • Get your token (single-use card) and keep it safe, you’ll need it to exit!

You may also buy a ticket at a manual service counter. Some of the service counters support Visa card payments

  • Exit the station: Scan your QR code (Alipay) or insert your token at the gate to exit
  • Need help? Ask staff near security (they usually speak basic English)
