Micro-/Nanorobots for minimally-invasive surgery

Micro- and nanorobots offer significant promise for minimally invasive medical applications, owing to their ability to navigate complex biological environments under wireless control. A critical challenge, however, remains in enabling these miniature devices to effectively penetrate dense soft tissues to reach target sites in the body. In this talk, I will present recent advances in strategies for nano- and microscale robotic penetration of biological tissue barriers. I will highlight our latest developments in magnetic actuation, localization and sensing. These innovations bridge the gap from benchtop experimentation to clinical translation, paving the way for precise and minimally invasive cancer therapies.
