Robotic micro and nanomanipulation for basic science research

This talk will report our recent results on developing robotic micro and nanomanipulation systems for handling small model organisms and single nanostructures and for characterizing/alternating their characteristics. These systems have enabled novel basic research in neuroscience, genetics, and nanoelectronics. The talk will focus how the robotic technologies and systems are designed for specific applications and how their unique advantages facilitate the scientific discoveries.
