Manipulation at small scales: from in situ control to stochastic force fields

This talk will discuss our work in small-scale manipulation, starting with in situ precision control techniques, such as robotic micromanipulators and tools for precise manipulation. It will then introduce hybrid micromanipulation methods that leverage surface tension, and expand to robotic instruments for wetting characterization, soft matter handling, and fabrication. We will also delve into the exploration of spatially nonlinear stochastic force fields, including Chladni plate-based acoustic fields, ferrofluidic interfacial fields, and airflow fields, highlighting how precision control can be achieved within these inherently stochastic or chaotic environments.
