Cyborg and Bionics Systems (CBSystems) is a new, open access, peer reviewed journal distributed online by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in affiliation with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Its scope covers a wide range of fields related to cybernetic organisms and bionic systems, including robotics, biomedical engineering and neuro-engineering. Prof. Toshio Fukuda is serving as the founding editor-in-chief.
CBSsystem is planning a special issue on Micro/Nano-Manipulation and Bio Assembler, guest edited by Prof. Dr. Tatsuo Arai, Prof. Sinan Haliyo and Prof. Dr. Masaru Kojima. The expected time of publication is December 2020. Article processing charges will be fully waived for the special issue.
Please contact the editors rapidly at email@example.com for the submission process and more information.
About the special issue
Micro/nano manipulation provides control, sensing, intelligence, skills and automation in small scales. Its most interesting field of application is biology, which primarily involves single cells and/or tissues. The fabrication of artificial tissues, an essential and the most attractive integrant of cyborg and bionic systems, requires making the best use of micro/nano manipulation. Bio-assembler is an innovative research paradigm that will promote the advancement of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine through state-of-the-art micro/nano manipulation technologies. We call for papers dealing with biological cell handling, transporting, sensing, gathering and assembling into tissues by applying mechanical hands, optical and magnetic drives, and microfluidic devices. We are also interested in various related topics on automated cell sorting, cell assay, cell characterization as well as automated cell injection.
